Iroko is a very dense, durable and attractive timber from West and Central Africa. It has very high strength, resistant to rot and naturally suitable to outdoor conditions without treatment. It is sometimes called "African teak" for it's properties but is not formally from the teak species. Typically you'd expect around 20-40years outdoor exposure from Iroko whereas Burmese teak would be 40-50+ years.
